📣 Attention, Cougar sophomores and families!

All Croatan High School 10th-grade students are required to take the PreACT on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

The PreACT measures academic progress in English, mathematics, reading, and science while helping students prepare for the ACT they will take in 11th grade. Results help identify strengths, areas for growth, and opportunities for academic planning.

📲 Read the parent letter and find information about all upcoming testing dates on the school website:
Select the News tab, then click “Testing Calendar.”

Families are encouraged to review the full letter, including information about the optional MyACT account and student privacy.

The principal, Christopher Davis, of Croatan High School announced today that Kaylin Fitzsimmons and Mara Jennings have been named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2027 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2027 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”

The yearbook store is now open. You can order this year's yearbook at the lowest price of the year now through homecoming weekend. Go to yearbookforever.com or email Sherri Meadows for more information.

Also, it is time to purchase senior ads to commemorate your senior in this year's yearbook. These can also be purchased online at yearbookforever.com or email Sherri Meadows for more information.
