Beginning Saturday, January 31, 2026, all extracurricular and athletic activities are cancelled for the weekend and until further notice.
Monday, February 2, 2026, will now be a snow day (no school) for students and an optional workday for staff.
On Monday, all schools and CCPS buildings will be closed. Staff members that do not take leave will work remotely.
February 16, 2026, will now be a regular school day, and students will report to school.
If severe weather continues to affect our area after Monday, February 2nd, schools will most likely be operating under remote learning for students. If this is the case, please be prepared. More information will be communicated on Monday to students, staff, and parents.
A winter storm is headed our way, and we’re expecting LOTS of snow here at the beach! 🌊❄️ Since this doesn’t happen often in coastal North Carolina, the CHS Yearbook Staff wants to capture the fun with a Snowman Contest!

❄️ This decision was made in coordination with local weather and emergency management officials. Pre-dawn temperatures across the county are forecasted to be in the teens, with wind chills in the single digits.
🚌 The two-hour delay will allow temperatures to rise after sunrise, providing safer and more comfortable conditions for students who wait outdoors for school buses.
🧤🧥 While tomorrow’s temperatures will be frigid, the rest of the week is forecasted to be somewhat warmer, but still quite cold. If your student is in need of a coat or gloves, please work with your school counselors or social workers to see if cold weather items are available in order to keep your student(s) as warm as possible at school bus stops.

Spring Drop/Add will be open for two days this semester: Thursday, January 22nd - Friday the 23rd.
The Google Form is now open and ready to receive Drop/Add Requests: click here to access the form: https://bit.ly/45nhvls
The only way to request a schedule change is by completing this form.
Students should submit the form one time and include all changes they wish to request.
Schedule change requests will be considered if they meet one of the following criteria:
1. You have already completed the class and earned credit.
2. You want to move up or down a level (Standard, Honors, AP)
3. You have an open period in your schedule that needs to be filled
4. You need a different class to meet graduation, college, or program requirements.
Teacher requests will NOT be considered and changes are based on space and availability.
If a schedule change is made in Infinite Campus, it takes an overnight sync for your class to show up in Canvas.
