🎓 Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a North Carolina Future-Ready High School Diploma, Croatan students must earn a minimum of 32 credits, including:
4 English credits (English I–IV)
4 Math credits (Math I, II, III, and a fourth aligned math course)
3 Science credits (Physical Science, Biology, Earth/Environmental Science)
4 Social Studies credits (Founding Principles, Economics & Personal Finance, American History, World History)
1 Health and Physical Education credit
6–8 elective credits in areas such as Career & Technical Education (CTE), World Languages, Arts, or JROTC
CPR certification is also required, typically completed in Healthful Living

Through the College & Career Promise (CCP) program, juniors and seniors with a 2.8 GPA or qualifying test scores can take tuition-free college courses at Carteret Community College. These courses count toward both high school and college credit—offering a head start on higher education.
💼 Real-World Experience
Croatan’s CTE Career Center connects students with job shadowing, pre-apprenticeships, and internships—many of which are paid. For example, students have gained real-world experience at Veneer Technologies and other local businesses, building both resumes and confidence.
