Croatan Professional Development for Faculty and Staff
Research has shown that quality teachers are the single greatest determinant of student achievement. Professional Development is a vital part of ongoing teacher education and improved instructional strategies. At Croatan High School, we are committed to allowing classroom teachers an opportunity to participate in and benefit from high quality, valuable professional development that is teacher-driven and teacher and student-centered. Our Professional Development committee is comprised of accomplished teachers who have proven themselves as exceptional educators and have gained the respect of their peers. Their nomination for Teacher of the Year is what places them on the PD committee allowing them an opportunity to determine the direction of future PD plans for CHS.
